Week 4

I love how God made us all so unique but loves us all the same. I used to chase the chaos of the night life but there's chaos in the beauty of nature. How do you let your soul rest? My body rests when it is relaxed but my soul rests in the joy of the Lord and I continually try to rest in more and more day-to-day activities. My soul rests in the joy of the Lord when I do something fun. I find it fun to go on a spontaneous adventure. I find it fun weeding and chopping wood for my work duty. I find it fun having conversations about Jesus. I find it fun playing little games by myself. Find the joy of the Lord in everything. I will continually ask God to give me His eyes for people. God help my flesh from comparing, getting irritated, or impatient. These don't feel good. Be kind to your heart. Through this, you'll be more kind to others and won't feel any unkindness back. Just like in the story “You Are Special” by Max Lucado, at the end of the book Punchinello couldn't receive any grey dots or gold stars, they would just fall off because He only listened to what Eli would say about Him.

I was striving to be more dignified thinking this was what it looked like to be righteous but I want God to have all the honor and glory. Righteousness is being morally right and justifiable. One day my little sister, Maycee, told me her favorite worship song was “I will be undignified” by Rend Collective, but why would the band say they worship without dignity if they’re called to be righteous? What's worthy of honor is different to the world compared to a Christian. I believe being undignified is being undignified to the world which consists of no comparison, continuously fixing my eyes on Jesus, rebuking the enemy in everything, and looking to God for direction and guidance in everything. “God help me with my irritation” Every relationship with God surrounds the aspect of growth. I will grow if I believe in that growth. I can see God more clearly the more I pursue Him. Pursuing Him looks like laying down my life, my comforts, my routines, my dignity. I will look like a fool, for Jesus because through that I will find immense confidence in myself and peace where I used to have my eyes rolled back on myself and sitting in confusion and struggle. When my eyes are fixed on God, I can ask Him for a good day, I can ask Him for warm weather, I can pray for my loved ones, I can receive visions, I can find the words to say, and God shares His dreams with me. Thankfulness will sustain you.
